Expungement is a process that allows someone with a criminal record the ability to have said record erased. This is beneficial in many respects but especially due to the fact upon successful completion of the expungement process you will be allowed to vote, gun rights restored, apply for housing, and apply for a wider spectrum of jobs.
The process requires the passing of five years since sentence by the court and that all conditions and restrictions given by said court be satisfied in full. A wide spectrum of misdemeanors fall within the statute and a lesser amount of felonies are accepted pursuant to Mississippi Code Section 99-19-71.
