May 12 Special Election to Fill Congressman Nunlee's Seat

The turnout was less than stellar on a beautiful, spring day in Mississippi.  But the people have spoken.  Walter Zinn, a relative newcomer to our area grabbed 17% of the vote while Trent Kelly, District Attorney for the First District, grabbed 15%.

Trent Kelly, a republican, toppling 11 other Republicans appears to be the front runner for the election that concludes on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.  It is expected that many of the republicans will give their support to Trent Kelly.
